While visiting family, I had to take a cab somewhere. They required we had a car seat.

I don't see the harm in just having one around. It isn't like it'll hurt anything sitting in your closet.

They only check here if you are leaving in a car with your baby.

Same here. With all of my kids. My oldest was born in 1988, and they wouldn't let me leave with her until they checked the car seat.

I found the carseat helpful even when we weren't driving as it snapped into the stroller so my babies could lay down and sleep when we walked. Do you just baby wear?
