I actually ended up losing my job over the mask issue. The company requires everyone to wear a mask and I couldn't. My shift was only 8 hours though.
Troll that's illegal. They can't fire you for medical issues.
It isn't a coincidence that me and the other person who wouldn't wear a mask (for non medical reasons) lost our jobs on the same day which was the day of the mask mandate at work.

The official reason on paper was budget cuts but I'm not stupid enough to think that is the truth.
We must COMPLY at all costs! What is wrong with you! The danger to your own health is immaterial! Did you miss that memo?

So you are part of the “vulnerable” population yet you KNOWINGLY go out without any face covering, ok. But wait, there’s more! You expect OTHERS to protect YOU by keeping their distance. Not how it works. That’s not how any of this works!

I found one that I thought was good. It was a pretty thin cotton material and pretty breathable. I had an asthma attack in the middle of the supermarket and has to be taken by ambulance to the hospital because I couldn't breathe, my fingers, toes, and the tip of my nose turned blue, and then I passed out. I've been having to use oxygen off and on since that happened.

Even with a note from my doctor people have an issue with it. There is an order in my state requiring facemasks but there are exceptions for those with medical conditions.

I have a face shield and I tried wearing that but people still freaked out even more so than when I wore nothing. It doesn't fall under the mask mandate anyway so it wasn't really worth it to keep wearing it.

I wish people would just keep their distance instead of coming up to me to confront me. I keep my distance from everyone but people still come right up to me.

I am part of the vulnerable population. I do everything I can to keep myself safe but I still have to do the basics and get food and gas and stuff like that.

I wish people would be more understanding and I wish they wouldn't assume I'm just someone who doesn't want to wear a mask. If I could I would but it's just not possible with my crappy lungs. Don't judge until you know why someone isn't wearing a mask.

Wear a bandana. It literally does nothing to restrict your oxygen, prevents the psychosomatic reaction of having something over your mouth, and protects others from your coughs and sneezes.

When they get too close, just start coughing and sneezing in their direction. I promise, they will walk away quickly.

My son fake coughs and sneezes, because he thinks it's hilarious. I don't know where he learned this. People give me dirty looks. One lady was really giving me her opinion and I finally got tired of being yelled at. I told her "Yeah, you're right. We shouldn't be out in public. I guess that free trip to China wasn't worth it". Her jaw dropped and she walked away so quick.

As an asthmatic who has to wear an N95 every summer due to the frequency of bushfires where I live I find the "I'm a severe asthmatic I can't wear a mask" argument that has suddenly sprung up out of nowhere bizarre. We're the ones usually wearing the masks, why have we suddenly lost the ability to wear them?
I can only speak for myself but I have never had to wear a mask before this. We don't have many bushfires here. The only natural disasters are the occasional tornados and flash floods.

I have more lung issues than just asthma but when my asthma gets triggered it all goes downhill from that. My rescue inhaler didn't even work during that episode I had.

My lungs are shit and I qualify for hospice but I just can't bring myself to go that route yet.

My expectation is that people practice social distancing. I don't walk up to people and they shouldn't walk up to me especially not to get mad because I'm not wearing a mask.

I tried a bandana. It does restriction air flow. I have no problem with something over my face. I wear a bipap every night and have for 30 years. That isn't the problem.

I also wouldn't cough or sneeze all over.

I don't wear a face mask either. It just comes down to personal preference where I live.

I understand you having difficulty breathing with a mask on.
I understand you not wanting to wear one.

So here's what you do:
1. Only go out in public only when you absolutely need to. It should be a rarity that you do.
2. Get (or make) a lanyard to hang around your neck that reads "MEDICALLY EXCUSED from mask wearing." If someone approaches you, walk away & don't engage. ***SARCASM***

If the emotional support animal people can walk into any store that they wish and not be kicked out by the owner of the establishment, I'd be willing to bet you'd be left alone while wearing your MEDICAL LANYARD.
