I couldn’t believe how many actually think that if it has American in the name that means it was made in America. I saw someone arguing on social media that American girl dolls were made in America because of the name and they are in fact made in China. When someone posted the information many said they felt taken and how they didn’t think something with American in the name could be made somewhere else.

There was a show on a few years back about what "Made in Canada" means. I can only assume that since the U.S. and Canada market manufacture and market the same way that this applies to the States too.

Many "Made in Canada" products are either not "made" in Canada or they come from somewhere else but are finally assembled in Canada. This was found in many seafood items, automotive and other merchandise.
