Oh snap! I thought this was a question for a nursing exam or something similar.Hot4Tchr-Bieg wrote: ↑Fri May 22, 2020 2:10 amShe was working cash register and he went down near her. No training other than what she got in health class and girl scouts. But yeah...she's pretty awesome most of the timeValentina327 wrote: ↑Fri May 22, 2020 1:05 amHot4Tchr-Bieg wrote: ↑Thu May 21, 2020 8:11 pm
This is all the information my daughter had when she made her choice today. I think you should choose.
Awesome on her part that she stopped to help. Is she trained as a nurse or just well raised?
True or False?

Yes, both should be done.

Well, I’m not trained in first aid, so I don’t know how I would react in the spur of the moment.
Using some logic, I probably would’ve left the mask on until proper medical attention comes unless it was clearly causing distress. If A I remove it I would ask others to stand back. I don’t see a problem with loosening his tie.

I've never been in a situation like that so I don't know how I would react but I'm guessing there is a decent chance I would loosen the tie and remove the mask thinking that it would make breathing easier for him since he was just unconscious.

No, in this case saying people shouldn't wear masks is extremely ignorant.Anonymous 5 wrote: ↑Fri May 22, 2020 9:15 amAs usually your response is factually ignorant.Olioxenfree wrote: ↑Thu May 21, 2020 8:05 pmIdeally everyone in the US would be wearing a mask.Anonymous 2 wrote: ↑Thu May 21, 2020 7:55 pm Ideally he wouldn't have been wearing a mask to begin with. I'll go with true.

As the mask shouldn’t impede breathing I’d loosen the tie and leave the mask in place.
You would not do rescue breathing in this situation.LiveWhatULove wrote: ↑Thu May 21, 2020 9:13 pm True
1) Check scene safety & yell for someone to call 911.
2) Check for breathing & pulse (I can't check for breathing efficiently with a mask on).
3) Start CPR, rescue breathing if needed.
If the man had already regained consciousness and was speaking by the time I arrived though, I would leave the mask in place.
