My 13 year old has high functioning autism, she is struggling with this staying home thing.
Today I went into her room looking for her and found her in her closet with her sketch pad and her phone. I asked her “what are you doing in the closet” she looked at me and said “well that’s a loaded question” it caught me so off guard because she’s usually so black and white and literal. I may not survive this quarantine folks! Any ideas on keeping the kid from turning into a hermit? We are back tracking to before she was diagnosed being stuck at home all the time.
Lord save me from this child!
I get what you're saying, I have an autistic child around that age. Does she have anxiety over all of this? Maybe she was in there because it helps her cope with that.
Does she have any friend she can communicate with regularly via phone, email or Skype?
