...and is it enough for you to live comfortably where you are? (combined salary)

I know this is a touchy subject and I'm not trying to be nosy, I'm honestly just curious and feel free to use the hell out of the anon button lol. Thinking of taking a job I like better that pays less and wondering what people view as comfortable income for their area.

DH makes 6 figures and we live quite comfortably in Atlanta. I'm a SAHM. We actually live on half of his salary as we invest/save half of it.

My husband makes around 150k, he works in environmental science. Right now I'm staying home for the year, we just moved to a new state and want to get the kids settled before I go back. Where we used to live, I made 60k working part time in marketing and development. Id like to get a job more in my field, anthropology, there's a much bigger market here than there was in our old town. We live comfortably, we aren't rolling in money, but are housing and food secure, plus we have enough to spend on some extras, but we're pretty good at budgeting and saving.

About 42,000 together at the moment. My husband used to make 80,000 all on his own but he lost it through no fault of his own and now he's finding trouble finding another job in the field he was in. I was a sahm mom that was out of work for 9 years and i'm currently a substitute but trying to climb the ladder so I can make more.

Is that enough for the area you live in? Hope you both are able to find the jobs you want!
