Today I had an appointment with a specialist. I have waited about a month for it. After waiting for awhile a bunch of security guards started coming in the office. I wasn't sure what was happening at first until I saw them pretty much carrying some lady who was screaming out of the office. She said that the doctor couldn't deny her and that it didn't matter if she couldn't pay for the appointment she needed help or she was going to die.
She continued to scream outside for awhile before someone showed up. She was screaming that they wouldn't make her make a payment plan or see her because she didn't have private insurance anymore.
I only know this because she was loud enough that I could hear all the words. Where I live everyone gets medicare from birth to death which allows you to get free medical treatment at any public hospital. Some of the specialists only take private insurance or make you pay in full for services on top of what medicare will cover. Private insurance isn't that expensive in fact I think my state has the lowest rates compared to the others. I pay like $2200 a year for private insurance for my family and there are a lot of programs that will help for those who need help too
Essentially she showed up at a doctors office expecting to get services for free and then freaked out to the point where she was escorted out by security and then she proceed to scream outside for awhile. I have never seen so much entitlement in my entire life. I was actually embarrassed for her and the person with her having to calm her down so she would leave. Health care is not free and if you dont have insurance to pay for it you have to pay for it yourself. That is just the way the world works
The whole time I was thinking "oh shit I thought this stuff only happened on momconfessions" lol
I have never seen so much entitlement in my life
So what happens if you need one of those specialists and you don't have money to pay for one? You die?
Most of the hospitals have specialists themselves or can refer you to one that will take medicare or are lower cost or have a sliding scale.Anonymous 3 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 13, 2019 5:50 pm So what happens if you need one of those specialists and you don't have money to pay for one? You die?
