I wonder if it's different from person to person? My FIL swears by it. And he's not a very healthy man.
I'm nowhere near medicare age yet. But I'm constantly thinking about what it's going to like when the time comes that I may need to rely on it.Like I say, though, I haven't heard much bad said of it.

The OP mentioned Medicare because thats the name of Austrailia's Universal Health Care system. Every Austrailoan citizen gets it regardless of age or income
Interesting! They can get it before they’re 65?
Nice!
Did you even read the post?

Everyone gets it when they are born.
Yes
Calm down

So far everything has been paid for and my one medication is very inexpensive. But I also have Tricare and that pays for a lot such as my flu shots and now the shingles vaccinations.
I get a yearly exam .
But I’m pretty healthy so far.
We will see what happens if I ever have a serious illness.😳

It's good to hear good stories. Is your expensive medication covered under Medicare? I hope so! I don't have any very serious health conditions but I am under a doctor's care for a couple minor conditions. And I worry about the cost of my medications for when I'm older. You're in the U.S. Right?

Here's to good health and for good coverage for all the things you might need it for!

Entitled means that you earned it.
Nobody seems to understand the definition of entitled or entitlement!

Medicaid is a whole different issue .
A lady “screaming “ about needing medical care seems a bit overstated and exaggerated, actually. I realize that people nowadays are less civilized but...this? Screaming?
Trolling.🙄
You do realize that there is a whole world out there outside of the US right? She already said she lives in Australia. Healthcare is different there.
Yes— there is a big wide world out there, ms Snarky.
🙄
But I am curious as to why she mentioned Medicare?
Do they offer Medicare in Australia?
Is it the same as ours?
Then why are you saying it’s different there?
And my point is that Medicare is an authentic entitlement here ...and is it also an entitlement in Australia?
But basically, saying a woman “screamed” is an exaggeration.
Her whole post is an exaggeration and unclear as to their health care.
That's not snark its sarcasm. Sorry if you are so delicate that sarcasm offends you. You were being quite snarky yourself trying to correct her. If you had bothered to read the first few pages you would understand where she was from and that their Medicare is different. How do you know it's an exaggeration. People get frustrated and sometimes act stupid. Have you never seen someone making a scene voicing their displeasure about something? You must live under a rock.

Delicate?

You say I must live under a rock?

Again- would you be this rude and self satisfied if there was no anonymous option?
Is this how you occupy your day?
How special.

It comes down to: is ALL healthcare a basic right? Every specialist? Every proceduRe?

I am with you, I think she was being entitled—basic healthcare, she has, but want to see specialists, work hard, save up, buy insurance, or whatever. I cannot go demand to see a lawyer that I think is the best without paying, but a medical provider, people, for some reason, think should just work for free.

I worked in medical for years and saw many providers who are less interested in saving lives than making tons of money for European vacations, having multiple luxury cars and living in the most expensive homes built. Refusing payment plans, or telling a new patient with a heart condition needing immediate care they are looking at a year's wait for an appointment, and playing Russian roulette with human lives is when I lose all respect for medical providers.
