Maybe it is just a difference in culture? It is not normal at all to show up and expect to receive something for free and it is very frowned upon. I dont know anyone in my life that wouldnt think how she acted was horrible and rude

The Australians I've met have been lovely people. I can't imagine them making a post condemning a terrified woman.
You should ask any of them if you can. It seems odd to me anyone would think what she did was okay.
There is a difference between thinking what she did was OK and having compassion for her. Clearly you have never been in her shoes and lack the ability to have compassion for others. There is also a difference between entitlement and desperation.

Going somewhere and expecting a service for free is entitlement point blank

Fear doesnt make you above the rules
Begging for medical care when you think you’re dying is not entitlement... it’s heartbreaking.

Have some compassion...

Even if you don’t care about her.
I dont have compassion for someone like that. Go about it the right way. Get private insurance if you want to go to that specific specialist or go to a different one. Go to the hospital and go from there. You dont go and act like that and hold up other people from being seen

There is no excuse for how she acted
Wow. Maybe she doesn`t have the income for private insurance. Maybe her doctor sent her to this specialist not knowing he only took private insurance (No idea where you live but it must have a 2 tier medical system). Maybe this woman`s health condition could be fatal is not treated quickly and she just saw that chance start flying by with no one to help her.

SO this woman is afraid of dying and you`re upset because it took you a few more minutes to see the doctor, that`s entitlement. There is no excuse for a lack of compassion.

Entitled means that you earned it.
Nobody seems to understand the definition of entitled or entitlement!

Medicaid is a whole different issue .
A lady “screaming “ about needing medical care seems a bit overstated and exaggerated, actually. I realize that people nowadays are less civilized but...this? Screaming?
Trolling.🙄
You do realize that there is a whole world out there outside of the US right? She already said she lives in Australia. Healthcare is different there.

Yes— there is a big wide world out there, ms Snarky.
🙄
But I am curious as to why she mentioned Medicare?
Do they offer Medicare in Australia?
Is it the same as ours?
Then why are you saying it’s different there?
And my point is that Medicare is an authentic entitlement here ...and is it also an entitlement in Australia?
But basically, saying a woman “screamed” is an exaggeration.
Her whole post is an exaggeration and unclear as to their health care.

She wasn't expecting to get it for free. She was trying to make a payment plan with them and they refused. In the case of someone who has no insurance, they should be REQUIRED to offer payment terms for people who need treatment.

I disagree that it should be required. There is nothing wrong with an office wanting payment at the time of the appointment

It is an entitlement from birth to death where I live. Mentioned that right in the post

The name is exactly like ours.
So I was wondering if they offer the same services.
I have Medicare in the USA because I’m over 65. It’s excellent.
