Dumb Facebook question

When I get on my computer (not phone) on Facebook a list of my contacts for messenger show up on the right side of the page, showing they are active or how long ago they were active. Some of these people I talk to often others I never message. Yet one person I message all the time never appears there. His name is not there at all. Yet if I go to his profile it will show him as active/not active. Is there a way I can put him on that list to save a step or 2 so I can message easier?

You can block it from showing up on your settings I bet he has it blocked so it doesn't show up.

He probably has chosen to hide his status, so people won't hit him up on messenger so much.
