If you were on a bus and found a lost purse

DH and I found a woman's purse in a garbage can while walking through a local park near where we used to live several years ago.

We checked for ID, and noticed that though there wasn't any cash in the wallet, the owner's ID was intact as well as a few photos.

She didn't live far from the park so we walked to her house with her purse, knocked on her door and handed it to her.

She was very grateful, and offered us a reward, which we refused to accept.

She was a senior. She told us that someone snatched her purse while she was grocery shopping. She had placed her purse in the toddler seat area of her shopping cart, and turned away to grab something from a shelf at the store. When she turned back, no purse.

The same thing happened to another woman we know, too.

So be careful when you're out shopping, ladies!
