Owner. Most phones have a thing that tells you what carrier they are. I'd take it to the carrier and ask them to contact the owner. If for whatever reason the owner was not reachable I'd take it to the police station.

I'd tell the bus company and drop it off at the police station. So the owner knew where his/her wallet was.

It's not as if bus drivers are the most reliable or trustworthy so I would possibly look at the phone contact list and start calling to let THEM know that so and so's purse was left behind, and then I would see about returning it to the local PD? If they do something like that?

I guess I would just be a little nervous about the bus driver but I suppose that would be the easiest way, too.

I would try to find them and return it all. I believe in karma.

I did find a purse once on the side of the road. It had an asthma inhaler and a check book and glasses etc.

I got her phone number from the checks and called her. Turns out some one stole her purse and took out the cash and credit cards and then tossed it.

She was grateful to get it back since there was still important stuff in there. She tried to pay me a reward but I refused. I am just glad I happened to find it on my walk and could return it to her.
