I always thought it was in reference to class and not race.lunarprancer wrote: ↑Sat Jul 27, 2019 10:21 amhttp://www.todayifoundout.com/index.php ... t-gallery/
Mind your own business! Am i being mean?
no, it's notAnonymous 1 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 27, 2019 10:11 amYou cannot say peanut gallery anymore. That is racist!Superbutt wrote: ↑Sat Jul 27, 2019 10:09 am Everytime i talk to dh in front of the kids, they're like a little peanut gallery. Mostly the 12 and 8 year old. An 8 year old i can understand but 12? It's not like we're talking about anything inappropriate, but EVERY little thing we say to each other gets some sort of response from the 12 year old and idk if i'm mean but it makes me feel so annoyed! Thinking of telling her in a nice way that she doesnt have to have a response for everything but not sure if i'm just overreacting.
Peanut gallery is not racist.
What is racist are the people who turn everything into racism. You just have to learn to ignore them and the word racist. It's all political bullshit.
No you're not being mean. I've had to tell my kid that she is not part of the conversation and to butt out.

That shit drives me nuts too. I tell the kids to go to their rooms sometimes if I want to talk to DH alone.

My children do not do that. Unless I witness the behavior, I don’t know for sure, but to me, just reading about their responses, it seems disrespectful to insert yourself into a conversation, and I would absolutely be disciplining my children!

I would say it's normal to teach kids much younger than that not to eavesdrop into others conversations.

We have discussions in front of our girls all the time. We definitely tell our youngest that our conversations do not involve her and she has no reason to chime in. We also tell her that if it does involve her, we will specifically ask for her comments.
