I probably couldn't make it on my own here. The cost of living is high as is homelessness and unemployment. But I could move out of this state and support myself. I've been a sahm for 12 years but I have held volunteer positions the entire time that boost my resume.

I would agree that both men and women need to have the means to support themselves and their children should something happen to the other partner. And I don't believe you have any business having children if you couldn't.

My husband is the breadwinner of the family and I have no issues with my self respect because he depends on me as well. We depend on each other for our home and family to work.
I personally think that anyone that’s judgmental about how other people live their lives is the one with lousy self esteem
