Republicans are the most likely to think the community is already protected.

Republican lawmakers and attorney generals are quick to point out when they're not. Remember Ken vag probe Cuccinelli specifically alerting VA public universities that they're policies to protect LGBTQ members from discrimination was not actually legal by law?

We can’t get federal protection because the southern states won’t ratify the ERA.

The southern states do make up the majority that haven’t ratified. I think though 13 states haven’t ratified, only one more is need to ratify. I am having an “I’m surprised but not surprised moment” over the article posted. Not surprised at the 45% since a lot don’t even understand why the ERA is necessary and surprised that people still don’t grasp this. I can’t remember what year but know it was only a few years before he died, Justice Scalia explained why the ERA was still needed.

Wow
I didn’t know that.
What are their reasons for not ratifying it?
