By my logic, stealing a car is a bad decision and illegal, however if you go to prison, the facility is still responsible for how they treat you.

We have no idea the condition she was in when she left the hospital. Only the condition she and the baby were in after 1 week in detention.

If I walk in traffic and get picked up on a jaywalking charge, I expect to be treated humanely while in custody. Don't you?

She didn’t come here illegally, it is not illegal to seek asylum, that was literally just explained to you.
