Have you ever bought land?

If so, what was the process like? We looked at land on Wednesday and talked to a custom builder (they own the land so we need to go through them to build a house on it). We thought they would be more eager to sell and everything but it didn't feel like it.

No, but I've helped clients buy it. My experience with any kind of home builder is that they have the upper hand...until they don't. When they no longer have the upper hand, they will offer steep discounts. Typically, that happens in a housing slump or when the neighborhood is almost sold out.

I like new build homes, I just don't like home builders.
