I thought I answered already but yes, I would love to!!
Would anyone consider reading One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez? It's a page-turner, for sure! I started re-reading it for the 3rd time recently.

Suggestion for whoever is going to lead this book club - to get started, pick 4 books from the suggestions and select a time period to post about each book.
Sept 1 - 15th: book 1 title
Sept 16th - Oct. 1: book 2 title
etc.
This way we would know ahead what books are coming up and could read the books that we are interested in discussing. Keep an ongoing post for future title suggestions, and rotate genres if possible.

I suggest "Into the Forest" by Jean Hegland. The novel follows two sisters who are alone in Northern California after an unexplained power outage cuts off all communication and social structures start to break down. Well written, not to long (241 pages) and a realistic premise.
