My beloved grandpa died on Memorial Day last year, so it’s been almost a year. I plan to go to the va cemetery Monday and see his grave and I didn’t plan ahead and ask off the day after. I also didn’t realize it was next week.
So from here on out would you just use Memorial Day as the day to go see his grave and mourn him or would you actually go by the date?
Of course I know it’s a personal decision and all.
What day would you consider it?

Memorial Day unless his grave was real close .

It’s on the north side of town 45-60 min away. So not incredibly close but not too too far either

I would base it on the anniversary date. If you can not make it, I'm sure he would have understood.
