White House hopeful Beto O’Rourke visited an Arkansas gun show Saturday to talk with firearm owners and vendors about solutions to tackle gun violence.

The visit comes one day after O’Rourke released a plan proposing a slate of gun control reforms and two weeks after a mass shooting in El Paso, Texas, where O’Rourke represented in Congress from 2013 to 2019.

“At the show, Beto listened to voters - including many Republicans who voted for Trump in 2016 - about their thoughts on gun safety. In order to make progress, Beto believes we have to meet people where they are, and not be afraid to have hard conversations with people who may not always agree,” O’Rourke’s campaign said in a statement.

Recent polls report over 90% of the population support Universal Background checks and other reforms. This includes those who own guns. It is the politicians who will not act that prevents reforms - not the will of the people.

Good on him for going there to talk to REAL gun owners. Although, any candidate that wants to try and sway voters to the left won't do it by banning "assault weapons"

Issues like Universal Background checks and limits on high-capacity semi-automatic rifles effect more than just gun owners. They effect every American who ventures out of their home to stores, festivals, malls, theaters and concerts. They effect every family who sends a child to school. They effect every family that visits a church or synagog.

There is no "right" and "left" during mass shootings. Nor do those labels shield your children from bullets.

I don't know what a "REAL gun owner" is supposed to mean. But we come from families with traditions of ownership and hunting, and we support reform measures.

Care and concern and safety for our fellow citizens is not “ swaying voters to the left “. And assault weapons are unecessary ( unless you’re planning on committing murder, a mass shooting somewhere)

How many do you have? How much do you know about the difference between bolt action, lever action, and a semiautomatic? Are you alright with high capacity magazines? Were you alright with bump stocks?

So when we talk about drug reform should politicians only talk to the REAL drug users? Or get everyone's opinion?

12 year old killed a man and a dog by accident with a car. Her father is being charged with criminal negligence and endangerment of a child. I wonder what the charges would be if it was his gun.

And look at this ridiculous outcome.
